An Unheard Voice
One day, I was on vacation during my summer vacation of 2005 with my dad and my brother on the border of Delaware and Maryland. Nice weather it was, along with a great view and best waves at sight. The food wasn't too bad either, but the one thing that went poorly was the way I was treated by my brother and my dad. To them, I meant nothing. We were at a grocery store one day and we went to get triscuits. We had trouble finding the plain flavor and I had an idea. I said "They have new flavors." My dad scornfully responded by saying "I don't want new flavors! I want triscuits that actually taste like triscuits." Later that day, we were using a pay-vacuum cleaner to clean out our car. I tried to help clean the part of the car I was assigned to clean. I didn't understand what my dad was saying fully. My dad decided to act like a boss and "This isn't anywhere near clean!" He was speaking to me like I was his slave. Then we were running low on vacuum power, so more money had to be put in. I was asked to provide more power. I was confused and asked "What do I do?" My brother said "Put in 50 cents dumbass!" He just thought it would be okay to team up with my dad and treat me like total shit. For pretty much that whole vacation, my dad and my brother were rude to me and disregarded my ideas by putting them down.
