The Benefits of Blogging

Personal Benefits:

1. Has blogging contributed to your personal growth as a writer? Why or why not?

A: Well, that is a kind of tough question to answer. I suppose maybe yes because the assignments I have done for blogging have required me to go online and undertake research into whatever the subject suggests. The main way it has helped me grow, is that it has given me a new skill and a way to not keep my thoughts so personal. Since it is a web page of mine, it makes me feel more like a famous person.

2. Has writing in the blogsphere developed a new voice for you as a writer? Has it shaped a new writing style or form different from the way you write in other spaces?

A: Yes. It has given me the opportunity to share my thoughts about the world on the world wide web. With that said, more people can see what I have to say as a writer.

3. Do you see yourself continuing to blog after this unit ends? Why or why not?

A: I might. If people like my blogs, then I will definitely continue. It all depends on how I feel.

Societal Benefits:

1.How can blogging foster new relationships between people in society?

A: Blogging helps get your voice out to the public. Some people may agree with you or find your viewpoints on the world to be interesting. People can also learn new things from each other and relate to each other through blogging.

2.Has blogging seeped into relationships with others you knew prior to blogging?

A: For the most part, no. It has only happened with the student teacher who introduced me to blogging. Not many people have seen my blog. nor have I seen theirs.

3.Has blogging helped you develop new relationships? How and what types of relationships?

A: Blogging hasn't really gotten me any new relationships.

Redefining Media:

1.What do you think is the role of media in society?

A: Media allows us to understand concepts in motion and visuals rather than words.

2.How is blogging different from the way other media forms are shaped in our society?

A: Other media is media all in one place such as Youtube. In blogging, there is media along with text about other people opinions or yours.

3.Has blogging changed the way you relate to news media?

A: Not really. If I want news media, I go onto Youtube.

4. Do you think there are limitations in blogging as a form of media?

A:No. Media should work on a web page as it should anywhere else.

Animal Cruelty

Each year, millions and millions of animals are killed due to the self-desires of us humans. We want to have meat on our plates to get extra protein. We may be happy with meals such as hot buffalo wings or sizzling sirloin steak made New York City style, or maybe perhaps juicy hamburgers, but guess what? These are all animals that people had to torture and kill for us! With those cattle, the food industry rips their mouths off and they spit blood all over the place. With pigs, people stand on top of them and then on the other side, another person will choke them. It's true. Then they use the marrow of their bones for gelitan! This makes marshmellows and gummy candies like gummy worms, gummy bears, and you name the rest. Those gummy candies are very much meat as well. The food industry just likes to trick you. Chickens are just poor little birds. They are so innocent, yet they are still locked up in cages and beaten by landowners. My viewpoint on all of this is very self-explanatory. You have two choices. One of which if not both must be made. Become a vegetarian or learn to be aware of what you are eating on your plates most days, because those animals face dangers that humans are too afraid to face. Being cautious will pay off in the long run.

An Unheard Voice

One day, I was on vacation during my summer vacation of 2005 with my dad and my brother on the border of Delaware and Maryland. Nice weather it was, along with a great view and best waves at sight. The food wasn't too bad either, but the one thing that went poorly was the way I was treated by my brother and my dad. To them, I meant nothing. We were at a grocery store one day and we went to get triscuits. We had trouble finding the plain flavor and I had an idea. I said "They have new flavors." My dad scornfully responded by saying "I don't want new flavors! I want triscuits that actually taste like triscuits." Later that day, we were using a pay-vacuum cleaner to clean out our car. I tried to help clean the part of the car I was assigned to clean. I didn't understand what my dad was saying fully. My dad decided to act like a boss and "This isn't anywhere near clean!" He was speaking to me like I was his slave. Then we were running low on vacuum power, so more money had to be put in. I was asked to provide more power. I was confused and asked "What do I do?" My brother said "Put in 50 cents dumbass!" He just thought it would be okay to team up with my dad and treat me like total shit. For pretty much that whole vacation, my dad and my brother were rude to me and disregarded my ideas by putting them down.
